It's Obama Time! Artwork Inspired by Barack Obama

Show will feature artwork inspired by President Barack Obama by over 50 artists from across the country.

Echoing the spirit of the “Manifest Hope Exhibition” organized by Shepard Fairey for President Obama’s inauguration, Harbor Country Progress is excited to announce the opening of “It’s Obama Time”, a juried art show of Insider and Outsider Artists. The show is being organized by Jim Vopat, Sara Scherberg and Margarita Doerschner. Vopat says, “It’s Obama Time seeks to encourage artists and activists to maintain the momentum to bring about true change.” Paintings, photography, bronzes, collages and jewelry from over 50 artists will be displayed.

Many artists from Chicago and southwest Michigan have submitted pieces. In addition to original works, famous posters by Obama artists Shepard Fairey, Scot Lefavor and Aaron Axelrod will be available. A signed copy of Shepard Fairey’s “History” will be auctioned off later in the summer. We will also be featuring his “Adopt” poster.
